Bank Nifty August 2nd Week Outlook: Bearish Bias Amid Heavyweight Selling
Bank Nifty Expected Range: 56,773–58,720
Bank Nifty enters the second week of August with a cautious-to-bearish outlook, as continued selling pressure in heavyweight banking stocks remains a major concern. The index is struggling to maintain broad-based strength despite intermittent support from PSU banking stocks.
Heavyweight Banks Remain Under Pressure
Major private-sector banking heavyweights continue to face selling pressure, limiting the upside potential of Bank Nifty. Even when the broader banking sector attempts a recovery, weakness in these key constituents remains a significant drag on the index.
PSU Banks Provide Temporary Support
PSU Banks have emerged as the primary source of support for the banking sector. However, Friday's sharp PSU Bank rally failed to sustain momentum, with the move reversing within approximately 15 minutes. At the same time, several heavyweight banking stocks remained in the red, indicating a lack of broad-based participation.
Bank Nifty Outlook
The combination of heavyweight bank weakness, unstable PSU Bank support and poor sector-wide participation keeps the near-term Bank Nifty outlook bearish. Traders should closely monitor whether PSU Banks can sustain their support or eventually join the broader selling pressure.
Expected Trading Range: 56,773–58,720
Outlook: 🔴 Bearish
A sustained recovery in heavyweight banking stocks would be important for improving market sentiment. Until that happens, rallies may face selling pressure and traders may prefer a cautious approach.

Good information.
